Licenses are
issued only by the county clerk and may be used anywhere within the
State of Oregon. To obtain a license, the man and woman must complete
and sign an application. If either party is divorced they will need
to show the decree to the clerk. Same sex marriagare not recognized
by legal definition in Oregon.
Age Requirements:
18 Persons 17 years of age must have parent or guardian's consent. No
one under the age of 17 may marry; there are no exceptions.
Waiting Period:
3 Days Waiting Period. The county Clerk may waive the waiting period
upon request. (We perform many same day marriages.)

Cost: $60 and
is valid 60 days from date of issue and is valid anywhere in Oregon.
An Oregon license is NOT valid in the state of Washington
Officiates must file
the marriage application within 30 days of the ceremony. It is our policy
to file applications the same or following postal pick-up day. A certified copy of
the filed license application is required by insurance companies and
Social Security. Counties charge for a certified copy and fees
may vary by county. The license fee is $60 in most counties but is still $50 in Polk county.
